Hello & WELCOME!!!
I am so excited that you are here reading my FIRST Knox Family Adventures blog post. I plan to share our family adventures with you here on this site. It’s been a long time coming.
While I’m not an expert in hiking or backpacking or road tripping, I DO feel like I’m a little bit of an expert in parenting. I have been a mom for 16 years and I have been an outdoor enthusiast since I was a little girl when my dad took me on family adventures. We went rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking, canoeing, camping, and hiking. We spent a lot of time outside growing up and I am so thankful for that time. We didn’t have cell phones and YouTube to keep us “plugged in”, but I know my dad needed that outdoor time so he could unwind from a long week at work and recharge for the upcoming week. I find myself feeling that way now as an adult and parent of 3 kids. Honestly, we’ve been going on family adventures for years, but I finally feel like I’m ready to write about them.
Knox Family Adventures is a place for me to journal all of our fresh air and family time. While I’m passionate about all kinds of awesome experiences, we do have a tight budget and I’m always looking for free (or cheap) but super fun things to do with the kids. I like off the beaten path family adventures that allow us to enjoy some quiet time (or loud time) together. I plan to share all of these budget friendly family activities with you!
We have big goals as a family – to share experiences from each of the 50 states! We know it’s a lofty goal, but we have a lifetime to achieve it. So far we’ve chronicled our family adventures in the great states of Pennsylvania (our home state), Colorado, and Florida. Even though we’ve visited a few more states than that, we haven’t made our YouTube videos or captured them on other social media outlets like Instagram.
If you’ve got some time, feel free to check out our YouTube Channel. Our latest post was Part 2 of our Lost at Sea vlog. Make sure to watch Part 1 first so you don’t miss out on all the anticipation!
We hope you will join us on our journey! If you find that you have even a tiny bit of inspiration to get outdoors and spend some time in nature, then we’ll have considered this all a success.
HAPPY ADVENTURING!
Candice
